Ontario, Canada – LIVETARGET advances angler education and technique tips for its new Swimbait Series by producing and publishing an informative three and a half minute video guide on proper swimbait gear and techniques lead by ProStaff angler Scott Martin. The video includes segments on tackle, line, retrieves, and general tips for using the new factory rigged LIVETARGET swimbaits in the most productive ways for angling success.

While LIVETARGET has a long history of including angler user technique tips printed and inserted into product packaging, the new Swimbait Series ProTips video significantly enhances angler education. LIVETARGET Marketing Manager Gary Abernethy commented on the shift from paper to digital: “We felt like the Swimbait Series offered us the perfect platform to move to a visual, demonstration based tool for anglers to utilize. Because these lures are factory-rigged, and quite a bit different from most swimbaits, we wanted to provide both novice and experienced anglers with a great tool to understand all the design elements from this new product line. Video content just offers such a rich and complete way to impart understanding, and we wanted to have this content produced in a ‘real-world’ format on the water so anglers get a very clear message. Scott Martin is a great instructor, and his video work includes informative imagery that is entertaining to watch.”

Abernethy continued, “Along with making this truly for angler education, we are making this video available to our reseller and channel partners who will be able to use this video for in-store promotion as well as associated with e-commerce platforms so anglers get great instruction on how to use these lures for the best possible results right at the point of purchase. The video is also hosted at two places on the LIVETARGET website, under the “ProTips” navigation header, and also associated with each Swimbait product description detail. Links to the instructions are noted on product packaging as well. We don’t want anglers to miss this helpful content.” View the video at: LiveTargetLures.com/protips

The LIVETARGET Swimbait Series was introduced at ICAST in July, and is now available at retail tackle stores.

Here is a recap of the Swimbait Series product introduction details:

LIVETARGET’s Swimbait Series takes a bold approach to swimbait designs by delivering a complete factory-rigged lure that requires no additional hooks or weighting. In addition to having no extra expense for rigging, the manufactured features that are built into each model provide anglers with an advanced, engineered swimbait that incorporates features which would be impossible in a hand-rigged lure.

Tobias Wiegand, lead Swimbait designer commented on the importance of factory-rigged, “When we designed the Swimbait Series, we wanted to create a set of features that allows anglers to open a swimbait package and have a lure that runs straight and true. Each lure has unique features for hook placement, weighting, action, and snag resistance that would be impossible for hand-rigged swimbaits. We knew we could deliver the LIVETARGET anatomy and color patterns, but we wanted to make it ‘factory engineered’ for uniqueness and quality, and do this for each lure size.”

wimbait Series factory rigged features include:
Factory-Rigged: Internal weighting molded inside the lure body provides for a true-running lure every time.
Extra Wide-Gap Hook: Matched for size and integrated into the body of the lure, creates a low profile hook to minimize snags.
Dorsal Fin Shield: Aligned with the hook point position to create a shield effect as a snag-resistant weedguard.
Accessory Pin: Designed into each model to allow anglers to add extra hooks or willow leaf spin blades for customization options.
Natural Profile: Body profile matches to each forage type, featuring a unique tail anatomy that produces the ideal profile illusion of a real baitfish.
Oscillator: Causes the tail to swing side-to-side. Every Oscillator is strategically designed to generate a species specific life-like swimming action.

Built on the exact anatomy and Match-the-Hatch® color patterns, the Swimbait Series features these nine forage species:

Freshwater species models: Threadfin Shad, Gizzard Shad, Herring, Trout, Golden Shiner, Yellow Perch

► Threadfin Shad: 3.5” and 4.5” sizes, two colors each size

► Gizzard Shad: 4.5”, 5”, and 5.5” sizes, two colors each size

► Herring: 4.5”, 5.5”, and 6.5” sizes, two colors each size

► Trout Parr: 4” and 5” sizes, two colors each size

► Trout Adult: 6.5” and 7.5” sizes, two colors each size

► Golden Shiner: 5.5” and 6.5” sizes, two colors each size

► Yellow Perch: 4.5” and 5.5” sizes, two colors each size

Saltwater species models: Mullet, Pinfish, and Sardine

► Mullet: 4.5” and 5.5” sizes, two colors each size

► Pinfish: 3.5” and 4” sizes, two colors each size

► Sardine: 3.5” and 4.5” sizes, two colors each size

Wiegand summarized the release with this additional comment, “By factory-rigging these lures, where all the components are internal to the lure, combined with our LIVETARGET anatomy and color patterns, we think this will be as close as an angler can get to fishing with live bait.”

All products will become available to retailers in Q4 2016, and will be retail packaged as a single lure. MSRP will range between $9.99 and $18.49 based upon model selected.
